About Us

Our Mission

The mission of Beat the Streets NYC Wrestling is to develop the full human and athletic potential of the urban youth and to strengthen the wrestling culture within New York City.

Beat the Streets aims to make a Lifelong Impact on New York City student-athletes through the benefits and skills acquired by participating in amateur wrestling. We believe that the sport of wrestling fosters an uncommon combination of character traits that lead to enhanced social and personal development, and ultimately to better life outcomes, in the youth we serve.

Our Core Values

The values that drive everything we do for those we serve are as follows:

  • Transform Lives
  • Inspire for Greatness
  • Be Enthusiastic & Passionate
  • Think Outside-the-Box
  • Build a Family Culture
  • Get Better
  • Have Fun

Our Impact

Back in 2005, a small group of passionate wrestlers had a vision centered around the idea that if the lessons learned on the wrestling mat-- a strong work ethic, grit, perseverance, self-reliance, humility-- are applied to other areas of life, then so much more can be achieved in a lifetime. With humble beginnings that included a combined total of 26 programs in both high school and middle school, we at Beat the Streets are proud of the efforts that all of our supporters have provided to lead BTSNY to where it is today.

The Annual Impact Reports listed below provide context and perspective to the work we've done, are doing, and will look to do in the future.
