Registration & Requirements

Requirements to Join BTS Academy

BTS Academy is designed to provide supplemental programs to student-athletes in pursuit of two visions:

1. Going to college.
2. Growing through wrestling.

If this sounds like you, you have met our initial requirements. In order to receive BTS funded opportunities, you must reside in NYC or attend school in NYC.

Enrichment
College Prep - Must attend workshop to attend the wrestling clinic.
College Visits - No requirements, attendees will be first 40 to register.
Life Skills Workshops - Must attend workshop to attend training camp.

Summer Scholarship Requirements

Through BTS Academy, you have the opportunity to earn Summer Camp Scholarships to the National Championships in Fargo, Summer Camp, and the Summer Tour. In order to apply for a scholarship:

SAT Prep - Must attend a total of 10 hours of SAT Prep during a given SAT Prep cycle. SAT lesson information can be found here
SAT Practice Exams - Must complete a minimum of 2 practice exams throughout the fiscal year. Test dates can be found here.
Training Center Practices - Must attend 10 practices in 2017 & 10 practices in 2018, or 30 total practices. Practice information can be found here.
*YOU MUST BE ON TIME TO RECEIVE CREDIT. DOORS CLOSE 15 MINUTES AFTER SAT PREP & PRACTICE BEGIN.

Fargo

Train and compete in the nation's toughest tournament of the year! Trip includes transportation, lodging, and meal stipend through NYUSA Wrestling. To be eligible, athletes must meet our requirements set forth above, as well as qualify at the New York Freestyle/Greco-Roman State Championships or Northeast Regionals. Financial scholarships for Fargo, through Beat the Streets, will be issued based on our allotment criteria (found below).

Summer Camp

Join Beat the Streets in their mission to help student-athletes attend college, while also taking part in an opportunity to get better on the mat. Beat the Streets partners with a college or university to provide a dynamic camp experience each summer! All high school athletes meeting the requirements set forth above will be eligible for a full summer camp scholarship. All middle school athletes are eligible for a full summer camp scholarship.

Summer Tour

Join Beat the Streets on our first summer tour! 25 boys and girls will travel to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore. At each stop, our NYC student-athletes will connect with other Beat the Streets kids from different cities, tour and practice at colleges in each city, and explore the sights and sounds each city has to offer.

College Stops: Drexel, Penn, American, Maryland, Navy, John Hopkins, and Princeton.

Sights: Liberty Bell, White House, National Mall, Baseball Game at Camden Yards.

Summer tour selection will be based on our allotment criteria (found below).
